Trip to Kasol

Kasol

Kasol is a hamlet in the Himachal Pradesh state of India’s Kullu district. On the route between Bhuntar and Manikaran, it is located in the Parvati Valley on the banks of the Parvati River. It is situated 3.5 kilometers from Manikaran and 30 kilometers (19 mi) from Bhuntar and Kullu town, the district headquarters. The Himalayan hub for travelers is Kasol, which serves as a base for excursions to surrounding hikes to Malana and Kheerganga.

Place to Visit

01 – Manikaran Sahib
The Gurudwara at Manikaran Sahib is one of the most revered pilgrimage destinations in Sikhism and one of the greatest places to visit in Kasol. It is thought that Guru Nanak, one of the first religious leaders of the Sikhs, visited it once.
The hot springs in this area are revered because they are connected to several legends. Because of this, the offerings made here to God are prepared in these hot springs and treated as divine food. Additionally, taking a bath in the springs is regarded as another ritual and a religious act that the pilgrim performs to draw closer to God. This location has such holy and lucky traditions associated with it that you must go there the next time you are in Kasol.
02 – Nature Park Kasol
One of the odd locations to visit in Kasol is the Nature Park. The park is surrounded by serenity and offers access to the captivating Parvati River, which burbles among the crumbling rocks.
The Nature Park is a great area to exercise and stroll while being shaded by towering pine trees. Visitors can also indulge in some unusual foods to end the day on a positive note because the area is adjacent to numerous well-known cafes.
03 – Parvati River
You can hear the quiet rumble of the rocks as the water gushes, giving you a chance to temporarily forget the chaos of everyday life. Despite not being the best location for adventure activities, this location is a must-see for its unfathomable tranquilly. You can try your hand at fishing while tanning in the sun with your legs partially submerged in the foaming river. A day spent in the midst of nature, with a great home-cooked lunch at the end of it.
04 – Kheer Ganga Peak
The skies are bluer and the hills are greener than usual at this sacred site, which is located at the further end of the Parvati Valley. The Kheer Ganga walk is considered one of the simpler hikes in Kasol and is an impressive chance for beginners.
As the home of Shiva, Kheer Ganga is surrounded by myths that you can learn about when visiting the Lord Shiva Temple. The hot water plunge on this excursion has more surprises for you within! You can take it easy, enjoy the snow-covered hot spring, and unwind your aching muscles.
05 – Tosh Village
Tosh, a little settlement on the banks of the River Tosh, is situated at a height of 2,400 meters above sea level. Tosh is a unique place in Kasol that draws plenty of visitors from all over the country due to its breathtaking natural surroundings. It is located at the edge of the Parvati Valley.
As you walk alongside the Rivulet Tosh on the journey to Tosh, which begins at the foot of Kheerganga, it is one of the most picturesque treks in the valley. Tosh is most beautiful in the winter, when the snow on the trail and in the village gives you the impression that you are somewhere that closely resembles our conception of paradise.

About Weather

Summertime in Kasol is the best time for sightseeing and exploring the area’s splendour, with temperatures ranging from 13°C to 35°C. The clear skies and warm but pleasant days make it possible to camp outside. Additionally, it is the ideal time of year for hikers and trekkers to head out and explore the area on foot. Around Kasol, festivals are also a lot of fun during the summer, especially in June. Numerous well-known music festivals, including the Summer Hills Festival, the Electric Mahadev Festival, and the Indrasan Festival, are held there.
Winter
Even winter is not thought to be the best time to visit Kasol. It snows heavily and frequently, and it is very cold. Layering up and remaining indoors all day can’t be much fun, and that’s not what vacations are for. Due to snowfall, the majority of the roads are still blocked. Tourists will miss the opportunity to enjoy the fresh air and beautiful skies outside in the winter.
Monsoon
Avoid Kasol during the monsoon while temperatures are still between 22°C and 32°C. Travelers have a number of challenges when it rains. Unexpected cloudbursts and heavy rain fall together, making the roadways hazardously slick. Roadblocks and landslides are common, which puts tourists at risk. Although rains bring with them greenery and freshness, it is not advisable to arrange a trip during these months.

Activites

01 – Trek to Kheer Ganga
It is not recommended for those who are weak of heart because the nine-kilometer, four-hour hike over narrow and difficult trails leads to Kheer Ganga of emerald green hills. Even though it presents a number of challenges, it yet ranks as both one of the most adventurous and one of the easiest things to do in Kasol. Kheer Ganga is located at the very end of Parvati Valley. For the majority of the year, this area will be covered with snow, and during other months, it will just be sparsely covered. Despite this, it still makes for a slick surface and trail for anyone walking or hiking here.
02 – Walk along the Parvati River
The Parvati River offers a captivating picture of the lovely Parvati Valley and the nearby forests on both sides, with pine trees soaring far above them, in contrast to the loud and voracious water of the Beas River. The rivers here have a steep gradient during the monsoon seasons, where the water gushes quickly to generate rapids that would make any keen rafter and water sports enthusiast rush for his kayak.
03 – Hot Spring at Manikaran
Manikaran is the home of the natural hot springs that are sacred to the Sikh and Hindu Belief. It is situated in the Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh and is close to Bhuntar and Kasol. Manikaran is situated on the Parvati River and is home to numerous Sikh and Hindu holy sites.
